The Rubber Lined Top Suspended Bottom Discharge (TSB) Centrifuge from Whirler Centrifugals is a heavy-duty filtration machine designed specifically for the handling of corrosive, acidic, and hazardous slurries where metallic contact parts would fail.
By combining the stability of a top-suspended drive with the chemical resistance of rubber lining, this model is engineered for harsh chemical environments found in pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and effluent treatment industries.
Key Features & Working Principle
* Corrosion-Resistant Rubber Lining:
The defining feature of this model is the protective lining (typically Ebonite, Neoprene, or Butyl rubber) applied to all wetted parts, including the basket, outer shell, and discharge chute. This lining acts as an inert barrier, allowing the machine to safely process highly acidic (e.g., hydrochloric or sulfuric acid based) or alkaline slurries without corroding the structural metal.
* Top Suspended Drive Assembly:
The drive motor and bearing housing are mounted on the top of the machine, physically isolating the mechanical components from the wet processing zone. This prevents corrosive fumes or splashes from damaging the drive mechanism, a common failure point in bottom-driven machines processing aggressive chemicals.
* Bottom Discharge Mechanism:
Unlike manual top-discharge models, this centrifuge utilizes gravity for unloading. Once the filtration cycle is complete, a scraper (plough) cuts the solid cake from the basket walls, allowing it to fall directly through the open bottom into a collection bin or conveyor. This design significantly reduces batch turnaround time and minimizes operator exposure to hazardous solids.
